Make-Up Menu: January 2017

So it's been a while since I've put one of these together, but since refurbishing my blog, I've had a read over my old posts and realised that my make up has changed quite dramatically since my posts from last year, so I thought an update was well overdue.

1 | Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation in Y205
A late discovery from November 2016, I grabbed a free sample of several shades from Debenhams in  London's Oxford Street and was overwhelmed by how great my skin looked once applied. Though the shade is slightly pink to my yellow undertones, its perfectly pale enough to match. My skin looks even, yet real, with no clinging to dry patches and when softly powdered, lasts all day.

2 | MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC10
I picked this up a fair few months ago and initially found it heavy, cakey and difficult to use. However since my skin has had a miracle turn around since Christmas, I've been trying to use as little make up as possible to enhance my skin in the best way, so tried using this concealer with a very light hand, applied to my under eyes and buffed out with a mini RealTechniques sponge. It gives the lift and cover that I need for my horrifically dark under eyes circles.

3 | The Body Shop Drops of Sun in Honey Bronze
Another purchase made a few months back and I have been using this non-stop. The colour pay off is intense so for my pale skin I use this very precariously, one drop on a RealTechniques duo-fibre contour brush, swiped around my forehead and on my cheekbones, suddenly, I look a little less dead.

4 | Becca Beach Tint in Guava
This was given to me as a Christmas gift from my bestie (who has amazing taste am I right?) and I have not stopped using it. The colour is perfect for my skin tone, with just the right amount of pink that when applied I look as though I have been on a gentle walk in the cold winter air. The texture is creamy, very blendable and leaves a natural pop of colour on the cheeks.

5 | Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone
This I received as another Christmas gift as part of the Moonstone Glow on the Go collection from SpaceNK which I have to say I think is good value for money, as someone who didn't want to spend £34 for each individual full size. This product is popular among many and I now know why, its shimmery but not glittery and provides a lush, healthy glow to the skin when applied to the the high points of the face.

6 | Smashbox Brow Tech Gloss Stick in Brunette
You may already know that the Smashbox Brow Tech to Go was a bit of a holy grail for me, well this is one better. When I first saw the word gloss in the title, I thought they were mad. Turns out that the texture of the product when applied to the eyebrows adds a subtle hint of glossy colour and shape that looks natural and like real brow hairs and not flat like most brow pencils. Plus the spoolie on the other end makes for quick bushy tailed brows, just the way I like 'em.

7 | L'Oreal Paris False Lash Superstar X Fibre Mascara in Black
I've always wanted to try a fibre mascara since my lashes are basically like lead filings. I was shocked to see the results I had with this, my lashes have volume, length and no clumps. Still trying to work out how to get the formula to hold a curl though...

8 | Lipstick Queen in Medieval
After seeing the incredible Lisa Eldridge apply this for her Downton Abbey Inspired tutorial I raced straight to FeelUnique and purchased. The bullet appears an intense red however when applied, gives a gentle, natural 'just-eaten-berries' look, just like in the olden days. The texture is beautifully soft and the formula contains vitamin E to keep lips hydrated.
