Transitional Spring Make-Up

Hello to you my lovely readers!
Today I have a make-up edit for you covering my transition into Spring. The weather here in England has been picking up recently with warm sunny days and blue skies so of course, I fancied switching things up a bit on my face.

As soon as spring rolls around I love switching up my base products a little. Getting that healthy, bouncy spring glow is #goals right? To help me achieve this I have been reaching for Benefit's That Gal primer, which adds a beautiful extra layer of moisture, softness and glow to the skin. I've been following that up with my Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue in the shade Opal (often mixed with a bit of NARS Sheer Glow to perfect the colour match and add a little extra coverage). The gel consistency of this product just sinks into the skin and gives a lovely natural glowy finish. Plus its SPF 30+ so my skin is protected, win! Finally in areas that need a little extra coverage (mainly my under eyes) I've been reaching for the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer after getting my hands on a sample of this earlier in March. This product is amazing, its full coverage but so creamy, a little goes a long way and looks flawless on the skin, I definitely intend to purchase the full size.

When Spring is abounding I am all about adding bright pops of colour to everything, from my wardrobe, shoes and make-up. For blush, I'm a long time fan of Bobbi Brown's Pot Rouges, as they are a wonderful consistency, so easy to blend and very long lasting. At the moment I've been reaching for more coral shades and also picked up a new shade of the Bourjois Rouge Edition Souffle De Velvet Lipstick range in Ravie En Rose, a bright coral-pink. For contour, I am still loving my Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow, I've used this every day that I have worn make up since purchasing it. It adds a beautiful subtle shadow under the cheekbones to add that extra bit of shape and definition to the face.

If you know me then you'll know I'm much more likely to go for blush and lipstick than mascara of a morning, however on days when I have a little extra time, I have been making the effort to wear mascara. I used to love the MaxFactor False Lash Effect range a few years ago and recently fell back in love. I love the waterproof formula as it really helps to hold a curl on my dead straight lashes. For eyeshadow, I've actually been using the contour cream as a cream eyeshadow, it works great as it just adds a subtle shadow in the crease! I think a paired back eye partnered with a bright lip / cheek is always a chic look, but perfect for spring.

For brows, I have discovered the new Maybelline Brow Precise Fibre Filler, which is essentially a cheaper version of the Benefit Gimme Brow, however I much prefer the shape of the wand of this product, the bristles are only on one side and taper to a very sharp point, this makes stroking the brow hairs so precise, and the formula really holds the brows in place all day. I like, I like a lot.

Have you made any changes to your make-up for Spring?
