Five Senses: April Favourites

Sunday, 7 May 2017
Hello to you readers, I hope you are all doing well!
Today its monthly favourites time, so lets take a look at all the things I have been loving this month!

SIGHT
"Avatar: The Last Airbender"

"In a war torn world of magical elements, a young boy reawakens to undertake a dangerous mystic quest to fulfil his destiny as the Avatar, and bring peace to the world." - IMDB

My bestie generously decided to loan me the entire three book collection of this series, which while daunting at first, I soon got my teeth stuck into and now cannot stop watching. While yes, it is a kids show, the story is so well thought out, it deserves to be watched by all ages. I'm just starting series 2 and the backstories are becoming more prominent as the Avatar Aang develops his skills. Pretty sure this will be on next months favourites when I find out wat the heck happens at the end!

SOUND
"Emoji of a Wave" by John Mayer

You probably already know that I love John Mayer, and then he did a thing and brought out even more music to add to his vast collection, (hey, I am not complaining). He's managed to do it again, creating beautiful poignant tracks with melodies that make you feel like soaring. Emoji of Wave is perfectly gentle for Spring time, if only the UK had the weather to match!

"The Guilty Feminist" Podcast by Deborah Frances-White

If you've read my recent April Goals post then you'll know podcasting is something pretty new to me that I'm enjoying. This comedy show by Deborah Frances-White is an absolute joy to listen to, brilliantly funny but so relatable; bringing important topics for women forward through comedy. My favourite section has to be the opening "I'm a feminist but..." skits, one of my favourites so far being from guest co-host Lolly Adefope:

"I'm a feminist but a few years ago, my friend asked me where my top was from, and I said it was from Urban Outfitters, when actually it was from ASOS because I didn't want her to buy it."

If that didn't at least make you smile, perhaps this isn't for you. But I think its absolutely brilliant! Give it a listen on iTunes or on the website if you fancy, also its free!

SMELL
Chocolate Lip Scrub by LUSH

If you love chocolate orange, then you'll love this because it smells absolutely gorgeous. If the smell isn't enough for you then fortunately, it works brilliantly at getting rid of dry skin on the lips too! I love using this in the evening a few nights a week to keep them exfoliated and its never too harsh. Unfortunately this flavour is only around during Easter so snap it up quick while you still can!

TOUCH
Glycolic Fix Radiance Shot by Nip+Fab

This serum is incredible, I've been obsessed with it since I purchased it early in April. I simply mix a drop or two with my moisturiser, day and night and have watched my skin transform. It battles blemishes overnight and leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft. Definitely a new staple in my skin care routine.

TASTE
Bourjois ColorBoost Lip Crayon in Lolli Poppy

Yep, I'm endorsing eating lipstick again. I have worn this lip crayon practically everyday throughout April. Applied sparingly and dabbed into the lips, it provides a gentle pop of a bright coral / orange, with a glossy but never sticky finish and also leaves the lips feeling beautifully soft.

What have you been loving?
