New In: Beauty

It's that time of year when beauty launches are coming in left right and centre, and I am all for it! Being at university means that my pennies are tighter than they have been for a long time, so I'm back scouring the drugstores for some steals, and here is what I've found.

Holy moly does this primer glow! I've been on the hunt for a new highlighter to add some extra glow to my face in the peak of the winter season, since my skin is looking pretty dull and dehydrated, but a lot of drugstore highlighters are packed with glitter particles which can look a bit cheap and nasty. This primer, however, is like fecking unicorn tears! It's beautifully moisturising, with a silicone feel, and adds an intense sheen to the face to make everything look a little perkier. I think this one may be a new staple.

I've been a pretty big fan of NARS for a while now, since their base products are one of the only brands who go pale enough for a snowman like me. Their radiant creamy concealer in Chantilly still stands as one of my favourite concealers of all time, but sadly, their price tag isn't always pretty so I picked up a sample pack from my local John Lewis to test the formulation and colour. Sadly they've actually taken Siberia (my perfect match in Sheer Glow) off the list so I'm currently testing Gobi. So far, so good. It leaves an incredibly natural satin finish on the skin, with impressive coverage but the lasting power is not as great I was expecting - I'll keep you posted.

Yep, I am completely back on the lipgloss wagon and pinks are my current go to shade. I picked this up as hardly any drugstore brands are doing lip crayons anymore, despite their easy application. 102 is the perfect my-lips-with-a-hint-of-pink shade; natural and perfect for Spring.

You know me, never satisfied with a mascara. I've had a lot of success with Eyeko's ineradicable eyeliners, plus all their mascara formulas use tubing technology which is renowned for being easy to remove but helps mascaras to last all day without smudging. Perhaps this formula will finally help me hold a curl in my lashes!

I picked up a sample of this body cream in the recent issue of Glamour magazine and immediately fell head over heels for the beautiful smell of rice milk and cherry blossom. The tiny sample sachet was barely enough to cover my forearm, so I headed to my local store to try the full size. The formula is very thick and heavy so moisturises well but doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy.  I reckon this one will be here to stay.

Have you picked up anything new recently?
